Finally-Let's Hear Them Thangs

Finally -  Let's Hear Them Thangs | I think it was my buddy Steve Dobbins who said there would be a riot if I started posting pics from another build without posting some audio or video of me playing the first two. Finally got that did. A short demo of the first two builds with a LOT of slopping playing - but I think you'll get the idea.

It has been a while since I have posted anything, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I have just completed #3 - a "commission" for a buddy of mine - and I will be posting picks of that one one soon. Although my playing is not very good in this, you can hear what #1 and #2 sound like.

#1 has a cedar top and mahogany back and sides. It sounds OK, but I am pretty sure the top and braces are too thin. Learned a lot on this build. It is beat to heck, but still sounds pretty good for the first build. Because it is all so thin, this guitar is very loud.

#2 is the guitar I was hoping to build when I first got into this. It is all mahogany and has a punchy mid-range, old timey sound. It is a short scale (24.5") 12 fretter and I love the way it plays and sounds. A very responsive guitar that is easy to play.
