#1-Sidelines and Practice

Making a guitar requires the use of a lot of tools that I have not used in a long time or have no skill with - hand planes, cabinet scrapers, spoke-shaves, chisels. In order to get a little practice with some of these, I decided to do a quick weekend project my wife as wanted for a while - a window seat/storage box for our kitchen. It took me about twice as long as it should have because I had NO plan going into it - just made it up as I went along (Indiana Jones Carpentry). In the end, it turned out pretty good. At least my wife is pleased and that is all that really matters. Now a little paint and it will be ready to go.
